From original renovation until move in, I'm pretty happy with it! There are still some things I'm not in love with - these are going to be the upcoming blog posts as we get to the projects:
I have been living in the house for nearing 6 years now, so there are several little "freshen-up" projects we've done too, but those aren't very exciting.
Happy New Year!
We did the floors VERY LAST (if you've ever refinished hardwood floors you know why - if you haven't - just follow our lead) and I think they came out beautifully. We had to dust the walls & ceilings afterwards, but that is a quick (albeit dirty) job.
We also completely remodeled the upstairs bathroom and decorated it just like the downstairs bathroom (simplicity was key). Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the BEFORE upstairs bathroom (trust me...the blue plastic tile and pink tub/toilet/sink were a sight) I'll try and find a similar photo just to show the change
5 years later and these floors still amaze me - and I never cease to be dumbfounded by the change in the bathroom. (Trust me, if I'd remembered to take actual photos you would be AMAZED at how awful it was to begin with)
The last thing we refinished was the attic/bonus room. This is another space I didn't photograph to start with (I didn't want to remember how awful it was) but it started as a red-walled, yellow/brown carpet wonderland. It smelled bad, and I'm pretty sure it was used to store everyone's old junk that didn't make it to the trash cans. Here are some photos of what it looked like after we finished with it:
At this point in the remodel the house was FINALLY ready to be moved into.....I can't wait to share those photos!
One of our favorite dinner recipes - Chicken & Veggie wraps! I prepped all of our ingredients ahead of time, so cooking only took about 10-12 minutes.
Today I got a great little treat in the mail - a #frostyvoxbox from Influenster full of free products to try! My voxbox had a bunch of little surprises
Of course as soon as I opened the box my fiance insisted that I open the Fruit Vines so he could "try them" (he ate at least half the bag in about ten minutes)...needless to say we give our stamp of approval. Sweet, strawberry-licious, and made with no preservatives - perfect!
The rest of the goodies I have yet to try (tomorrow is a new day...tonight I am enjoying a fabulous glass of Merlot....) Check out this list:
I'll be reporting back on the rest of these items on my Instagram & Twitter pages, but I'll definitely be blogging about anything that knocks my socks off. :)
