This past Sunday we (the roommates.....my hubby, and my twin sisters) we tried to go to Boone Hall Plantation, but they were having some sort of event that we didn't plan for, so we had to think fast....so we decided we'd check out Shem Creek!
We've been seeing signs that say "Save Shem Creek" all over the place, so we'd been thinking about it anyway....plus it was (kinda) on the way home.
No trip with us is right without a little weirdness.....mostly from Elysia, let's be honest. :)
Yep, this is our kind of normal! Plus we're pretty excited about the fact that we can be outside and not wear winter jackets!!
We didn't spend a ton of time....we just walked up and down the boardwalk, but it was beautiful! Maybe we'll go back on a sunny day sometime this spring or summer and do a little paddleboarding ourselves.
So (as sometimes happens) Meg stole the camera from me and took some goofy photos with me in it.
Our jumping photo is a.....success? Haha. Not really sure what Dave's doing, but we got air!
Aaaannnddd....I hurt my knee. As per usual. I'm not exactly the most graceful.
We were goofy, it was warm, we loved it!! Hopefully next weekend we actually get to check out the plantation, but in the meantime I (personally) love finding all these little spots for quick getaways!
To top off the amazing day, this gorgeous sunset view from the porch of our apartment.
