This March Dave and I were able to escape the FREEZING Maine spring and spend about a week in the sunny SoCal. We were not upset about the temperature trade. :-)
A lovely friend of mine gave me several suggestions of things to see while we were in the San Diego area - so on our first day there we took a little stroll through Balboa Park right in the middle of San Diego. We were there on a Saturday, so there was an orchestra practicing in the middle of the park, a marathon going on, and tons and tons of families enjoying the beautiful day.
We didn't really do much research before heading into the park, so I'm sure we missed a ton of great stuff...(also...I had a HORRIBLE pinched nerve in my back so I could hardly walk) but what we did manage to see was gorgeous.
This garden area is pretty huge, turns out...because Dave and I actually got separated for a few minutes...thank God for cellphones! He tracked me down via texts and snapchats showing my location. :)
We only spent a couple of hours wandering around Balboa Park so when we got hungry we (of course) ran to PizzaRev for lunch....and then made our way down to Coronado Island to do some beach walking.
