I haven't blogged in an embarrassingly long time - my excuse was we've been so busy with work and our renovation project that I haven't been anywhere pretty. But then I realized that's a very sad excuse.
So I challenged myself...
I was also inspired by my beautiful bff who happens to own a gardening company...she finds beauty EVERYWHERE (and seriously...check out her work because it's amazing) and posts photos all the time....so I decided to try and take her perspective a little more.
Her company is called Solid Roots Garden Services, and they do beautiful work in the Downeast/Acadia region of Maine.
Since we've been too busy with work to really spend any 'leisure' time exploring I decided I'd just have to take my camera along on one of our work trips....so I told my husband to make room for it in the car. (Long story there...I'll get to it)
Here was my challenge:
Take at least ONE photo I can stand (listen....I'm not in love with any of these, they're very different from my 'usual') at each stop I had time to pull the camera out.
These stops are abandoned houses in VERY assorted places. Some are way out in the country, others are in some pretty seedy areas of the city. So this was a pretty broad challenge.
Here's what I got:
Now, I hardly know what any of these plants are...but I'm gonna learn! I am determined to become familiar with the southern plants - at least enough to identify the common ones.
One of the last houses we went to is in the middle of NOWHERE....but it is awesome. It's actually nothing special, but the tree-lined drive could be gorgeous, there is a huge porch, and a pool!
The last stop was a mobile home on an unkept dirt road....it was not pretty. I walked around for a few minutes to attempt and find SOMETHING pretty....but then I opened my eyes. Here's what was at the ugly house.
Life is beautiful, people, look around. :-)
