During Mom & Dad's visit this past weekend we also took a trip over to John's Island to see The Angel Tree.
To be honest I'd never heard of it until right after we moved down here and Dave mentioned something about this giant old tree in our area. Man am I glad we went to check it out!
For some reason the weekend they came down was the COLDEST one we've had since we got here - so we had to find stuff to do that was either inside, or in a "sheltered" place so we would freeze.
(Ok northerners - I know that "cold" in SC isn't really that cold, but we are
SO MUCH FURTHER SOUTH WE SHOULDN'T HIT 38 DEGREES!!!) :-)
When we pulled up to the Angel Oak park it didn't look very impressive. In our "underwhelmed" state we went into the park anyway. HOLYCOWWEREWEWRONG
The only thing I didn't love about this tree was the fact that there were about 100 people walking around it, and signs posted everywhere. Since we live here we're going to try to get back to the tree at some point when there are fewer people there so I can get a good photo.

Obviously the next step in any of our family outings is (once we're done checking out the sites) is to be goofy and document it.
Aaaanddd......as usual.....we had to attempt some jumping photos.
Don't ask....I have no idea what the gorilla arms are doing here....but this is us laughing over our failed jump attempt. Turns out we are not coordinated, and none of us can count to 3!
These next photos are the aftermath of Megan throwing an acorn directly into Dad's eye...don't ask. I have no idea, I only happened to look over at them at the perfect time.
Needless to say we had fun. The tree was amazing (and we're going back) and we got some great photos while visiting. Next time hopefully it'll be warmer!!
