The inspection was due either today or tomorrow, but he decided to make the drive today because the forecast for tomorrow is calling for below zero temperatures even during the day. Unfortunately today there were high wind advisories - meaning our Jeep was tossed ALL OVER the road. (As you can probably tell from my blurry driving photos...)
Over half of all the homes on the main road in Amity are abandoned....we're not sure why but we are guessing it is because people don't want to live so far away from ANYTHING anymore. To get into the home he needed to inspect we had to use the full power of the Jeep's 4WD and blast through the snowbank.
The drive back to Bangor was just as windy as the drive north, but thankfully by the time we were making the return drive the sun had melted most of the ice and snow off the road. We were happy to have a slightly less white-knuckled drive. :) We love listening to personal development books on Audible, and since there are nearly no radio stations where we were it was the perfect excuse! We listed to Jim Rohn's "Cultivating an Unshakable Character " - what a great book!
How gorgeous are those clouds!? This is very close to the Mount Katahdin overlook near Sherman
